The Wiccan Witch of the North

My name is Sara, I'm 16, and I'm just starting out in the world of Wicca. What I hope to do with this blog is expand and share my knowledge of the Craft with whoever so wishes to learn along with me, as well as help me get on to the path that will be right for me in my life.
Blessed be!

    That’s what I’ll be making today. :3

    Kinda like these.

Yesterday I went out walking with a friend to a park by our houses. 1 or 2 years ago the city cut down a few of the huge trees there, and that means many, many fallen branches. And surprisingly enough, even a few ranches that were even still a bit green. (perhaps they just feel from another tree nearby..but it’s a bit doutful.) Anyway, so I gathered together a bunch of sticks of different length’s and sizes so that I could pick what I thought would be best for my runes and maybe I could use one of the other ones for a wand (but that’s for another post.)

So, I picked my favorite stick, it’s a good thickness and a good length, I peeled as much bark as I could off and I got my dad to cut them up for me already and he managed to get 25 usable ones. Due to the softness of the wood some of them crumbled under the huge elctrical saw thing.

they’re different thicknesses though, lol. Some are about a cm and a half thick while others hardly raech one cm. I really love them though so that’s quite alright.

The wood is still rather ‘raw’ since my dad just gave them to me a little while ago, but I saded down that raw layer off of a few of them and the wood is absolutely beautiful. Here’s what they look like sanded:

The wood is a light tan, almost white colour when the raw layers of barkare all peeled and sanded off. Here’s what they look like before I sand them down:

    See the difference? :3

Ah, the smell of the raw wood is lovely. <3

Anywho, so I’m going to go finish sanding the rest of these chips down then try to find a knife to use for carving the runes into them afterwards.

    Blessed Be!
